We avoid politics like the plague but we were wondering if we do have a woman as President of the United States, will that change the playing field?

Unfortunately, today’s story demonstrates that women have a long way to go to be “equal” in the world. Both the media and the entertainment industries continue to be owned and controlled by men.  And these are the very industries where young girls learn about themselves and their place in the society.

How can young women feel that they have value to effect change or be contributors to the global conversation and what about their daughters and granddaughters? The fashion and style industries have long been a safe haven for talented women, but are our best intentions and creativity filtered through a less than equal world?  The media and the entertainment industries are under fire for being white male, particularly when you look at this year’s Oscar nominations, not in front of the camera but behind it. Important questions to ponder this Monday morning:
