With just two days before Christmas, it would seem hard not to share some last minute gift inspirations but instead we share some breaking news from aftermath of the Rana Plaza garment factory fire in Bangladesh that occurred in 2013 – the deadliest incident in garment industry history.

The Rana Plaza fire stood out as a tipping point for change and watchdog groups have followed closely to see if  the largest fashion manufacturers could and would provide the impetus for much needed reform by withholding contracts.

Upping the game from a tragedy to murder, Bangladesh  issued  warrants for 24 who fled the scene.

While this seems like a positive step – much remains to be sorted out between  industry executives and those who control the factories on the ground not only in Bangladesh but around the world.

We will continue to follow this story and share with you what we learn.

We are constantly amazed how influential fashion and style have become economically, culturally, socially – fueled by the internet – to shrink the world and bring us face to face with street style, artisans, emerging designers, extraordinary fabrics  and on demand shopping from every corner.  In the spirit of this season, we hope that with this power comes a mandate for change for those who still have no voice in the process.

We wish for you and your families a joyful holiday and we will be back next week with a round up of some of the  most important stories in fashion from 2015,  as we close out the year.

Merry Christmas!

Lucy and Claudia
