As we reach the end of the year some thoughts about the industry and ourselves.
What we wish for:
- More women of a certain age grace the covers and featured in print, digital and social media -often spoken about but rarely a follow through. Articles that are age related – the best of the 30’s, 40’s 50’s – end at 50. Why is that?
- Get rid of the phrase “age appropriate” designs and let us be the inspiration for clothing and accessories.
- Make a place for older women to enter the industry – as designers, directors, managers, influencers. Not every new, hot kid on the block has to be a kid.
- Retain the icons not to mentor but to do.
- Publicize companies with older women at the table so we can throw our buying power behind.
Our blog in 2016 will have a new look, new features and a few surprises. We can’t wait to show you.
