Vans is an American shoe company headquartered in Cypress California.  Founded in 1966, it had that perfect California vibe of laid back surfer, skateboarder dude appeal – definitely male and even then probably nothing we would have considered buying. I recall hours at skateboard shops with my younger sons checking out the latest Vans.

The company has a checkered history – in and out of bankruptcy, hot and then not so much, trying out new technologies to make each purchase customizable; but in the end, the trademark sneaker remains little changed.

And now guess what? We had an opportunity to review the latest promotion and thought this is a fabulous sneaker for us!  While much of the collection still remains at its heart a teen and twenty something must have, the slip on in black, white or wine are just perfect and at $60.00 they are our must have! And a little nostalgia for the 60’s thrown in each time we slip on a pair:
