Beginning today, and every Monday through December, we will look at online shopping. We decided to filter the holiday shopping experience online.
Online shopping, with the possible exception of Amazon Premium, requires planning ahead as good products sell out early and delivery can get precarious. 
Over the next four weeks, we will offer great holiday suggestions and perhaps a perfect gift or two to give yourself. Our primary goal is to make the shopping experience simpler and to provide gift solutions for families and friends.

Today we look at Etsy. We wrote about the publicly traded company in a blog last year. According to Wikipedia, Etsy is a peer-to-peer e-commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items and supplies, as well as unique factory-manufactured items. The inventory includes a diverse range including art, photography, clothing, jewelry, food, bath and beauty products, quilts, knick-knacks, and toys. Many sellers also sell craft supplies such as beads, wire and jewelry-making tools. The requirement for vintage products is they must be at least 20 years old.
We are not your average Etsy shoppers. We thought Etsy was about vintage or crafts and it seemed to have too much of everything. Certainly in New England where we live, we can haunt antique shops to find wonderful vintage treasures. And, we are not particularly handmade craft girls. 
So what did Etsy do for us? There is plenty not to like as in dresses made in China, or trinkets that are hardly handmade.

What we did find were a few hidden treasures, and we encourage you to take a look.
