As the thawing of the relationship between Cuba and the U.S. becames apparent, and the re-opening of the US embassy, we see numerous news articles about how businesses in Cuba will benefit. These include small hotels, taxi services, restaurants, catering to the young and the curious traveler, with economic opportunities for big companies to follow.
As we look at the economic impact of the fashion industry globally, Cuba, some 90 miles from our border, presents challenges and opportunities. The industry is looking to support Cuban designers and craftsmen, so that we can look forward to an entirely new look in design.

Fashion magazines are among the first to leverage this opportunity and the following article defines the moral question of this potential exploitation.
