We begin the week with a look at an interesting experiment regarding make-up. Does makeup, in fact, influence how people view you? If makeup MAKES you more attractive, does that mean that people think you are more likable, and perhaps even more competent?
Let’s assume for the purpose of this experiment that you are wearing age appropriate makeup (no Tammy Fay Baker mascara!) Do you wear makeup everyday – what are your go to products? Do you sense that people view you differently when you wear makeup? As we age, according to beauty stylists, how and what makeup we use becomes even more important. More is not better as we age as in heavier foundation, which can add years to one’s face.
Now that fall is here and light is changing, it is a good time to visit a department store cosmetics counter. They give away beauty secrets for free (they do expect you to buy something) but consider this a good time to get a second opinion on what “face” we show the world:
