Every once in a while, a new company catches our eye and, at first blush, this one seems almost too good to be true: Girlfriend.com.
In this day of the Internet of everything, how did a company find a name this simple that hadn’t been taken? (By the way, if you just query Girlfriend, you get some pretty weird sites so beware.)
The look of their site is stunning and they are bold and confident enough to enter the athletic wear market, an already crowded arena that includes companies who have stumbled in the market like LuLulemon (think see through fabric in critical areas).
The yoga style pant and leggings have eclipsed every other type of pant for teenagers and 20 and 30 year olds for everyday wear. With stiff competition, making and marketing a better pant and legging can have a huge upside. The Girl Friend Collective as a nascent start-up is setting the bar high, not only for quality, but for being both socially responsible and using recycled fabrics. We are so impressed with this new generation in the fashion world.
Our hats are off to them because they are not just talking the talk, they are doing it, in a thoughtful and strategic way that gives us hope for our global marketplace.
Instead of spending a fortune with a marketing company, they are launching with a free giveaway of their number one product – leggings. We love that they are a husband and wife team and have assembled a staff committed to changing the way we design, manufacture, recycle and market fashion. So go get your first pair now for free and let us know what you think: Girlfriend.com.
