Over the years most of us have toyed with the idea of having bangs or actually proudly flying the “fringe” as stylists like to call it. Bangs can cover a multitude of issues including oddly shaped hairlines and wrinkles. They can also add to the over all effect of slightly tousled and decidedly not your mother’s “hairsprayed” look.
We both have versions of bangs and the challenge is that they look perfect for about a week after a trip to the stylist and then they start to get into our eyes, stick out from our scrunchies at odd angles and generally becoming annoying.
In the world of DIY – why not be your own bang stylist? I was at first alarmed to read this story because who among us has not taken scissors to our own hair at age 8, tried to remedy a bad hair cut at 13 with bangs that only crept an inch onto our forehead or in later years took a whack at our children’s hair with dire results.
For those of you who have not considered bangs, this might give you the needed confidence to give them a try. After all, like few things in life, they do grow back and all can be forgiven.
