Monday round up has a little different slant this week. June is the month of graduations, weddings, showers, and end of school events but it is also the perfect time of year for those of us who love to read.
Let’s face it, reading on an IPad or a Kindle in the summer sun or at the beach just doesn’t cut it. And I still like the feel of books. Lucy is ahead in her reading as she gets the latest books at her local library. I use the library but I also buy books from a tiny bookshop in town where the women owners are so delightful and helpful in recommending what to read.
Very different experience from looking for a book at Barnes and Noble which has great discounts but sometimes I feel like they are pushing what to read rather than giving me a choice.
If you are lucky enough to be able to plan some time away, renting a cottage or perhaps getting an invitation to friend’s beach house, what better house gift than a book.
