Even though one of Lucy’s daughters dislikes the holiday rush for Christmas sales that begins before the pumpkin pie is served at Thanksgiving, we have to tell you that we are beginning today to look at holiday shopping.

We remember when the best fantasy shopping came when the Neiman Marcus catalogue arrived in the mail. r_main_101916Today, it is, of course, a digital catalogue and we have already perused it. For Lucy, it is a no-brainer. She wants to be able to do a walk-on in the Broadway musical, “Waitress” for $30.000. (A portion of the money is donated to the Neiman Marcus Foundation). The combination of fantasy on-stage theater and philanthropy makes this the ideal present! Lucy always believed that she would one day be a Broadway star. Today, she is not so sure it will happen, but she understands that we should never think anything at any age is impossible:

Really???

And because we are in the style business, how could we not feature a story that takes the infamous Christmas sweater to a new level:

Enough Already!

And finally, we are going out on a limb, but we think we have found the ugliest gift of the holiday season.  We are, as we have made clear, not fans of either Teva or the Ugg.  First, there is the Teva that we all should never wear. It’s great for younger people but the brand does not cut it for the 60+ generation. Then there is the UGG, which is overpriced and trendy in a way that we find annoying, although we admit some of the colors are cool and Claudia’s grandaughter will only wear UGGs. So if you are in the market for ugly – we got you covered:

Have a great week and may the holiday madness begin.
