Today is our round up as we paid homage to two great women who passed away for Monday’s blog:
For the last few years, we have witnessed the return of the “uniform” in the guise of black yoga pants or tights. Everybody is wearing them every day. Nobody seems to mind that they look just like everyone else.
What is going on? Is everyone on the way to the gym or coming back from yoga class? It reminds me of a good friend’s mother who had a wardrobe of sports clothes including skiing and tennis, even though she actually never played any sport. Claudia actually plays tennis and she looks very chic in her tennis togs. But, to be honest and frank, black tights are not a good look for a lot of women out there today: http://fashionista.com/2016/08/full-court-activewear?utm_source=hs_email&utm
“Granny Pants” – are you kidding me! Ok, we are not getting our knickers in a knot, but how could we not get excited or maybe a bit annoyed that they are making a comeback?Underwear manufacturers are now doing to panties what Spanx did to the girdle by making the idea of them a good thing, and the execution a little sexier, or maybe not: http://www.vogue.com/13471041/reconsidering-the-granny-panty/?mbid=nl_
Summer for some is a time to slide into an air-conditioned movie theater on a hot afternoon, sneak a buttered popcorn and chill out. But for most of us, summer is too precious to miss a day outside. The coming fall and winter are another story. Here is a preview of some of the upcoming movies that we are looking forward to. And these reviews are great and there are some fantastic films coming this fall and winter. Much as sitting in an easy chair at home to watch a favorite rerun or film on Netflix is an easy call, there is still something about the big screen and the camaraderie of an audience laughing and crying in unison: http://www.vogue.com/13470640/fall-movie-preview-37-films-to-watch/?mbid=nl_083016_
