We decided that today would be a good day to shop for lavender products. Lavender more than any other herb soothes and refreshes and it is as soothing as it is aromatic.
According to Wikipedia, “Lavandula is a genus of 39 known species of flowering plants in the mint family. It is native to the Old World and is found from Cape Verde and the Canary Islands, Europe across to northern and eastern Africa, the Mediterranean, southwest Asia to southeast India.”
While it is lovely as an ornamental in gardens and borders, we appreciate it as a culinary herb, and also, for its essential oils. Lucy and I both grow lavender in our gardens. I put lavender sachets under the pillows in the guest room and I even use a lavender bug stick for my horses around their heads to keep flies away. One of Lucy’s favorite shops is Aliikula Lavender in Maui where she used to live. She says that their lavender tea and scones calm the soul like nothing else. If you ever have the chance to go to Maui, you must stop and say Aloha. You can shop at their online store, http://www.aliikulalavender.com, or try these other lavender products:
