It has been nearly 30 years since Carole Jackson published Color Me Beautiful. (Current edition 1987 of Color Me Beautiful on Amazon). I remember interviewing her for a television program where we invited women from the audience to the stage and watched as Carole changed each woman’s wardrobe colors. It was great fun and it created a buzz as women were heard to say, “Oh, I am so clearly a navy blue personality”.
As the new palette of colors are introduced, we wonder if this concept has staying power and whether we are conscious of color when we shop today.
Lucy remembers thinking to throw on a scarf with a lovely shade of pink to lighten her face. The rest of the color personality she thinks she has discarded but has she really?
What does it say about us that we all wear black so much of the time? Should everyone be able to wear black? When you glance at your closet are the colors relatively all the same shades of a couple of colors? What is your Color Personality?
