We start the week revisiting several stories we have done recently:
First, our favorite hot gal, Iris Apfel, is back in the news with an interesting take on everything from Instagram to Streetwear and she is wearing some pretty amazing jewelry. All in all, she is letting us know that we can always reimagine ourselves!

Second, we took note of the change in dress code for British Airlines attendants last month, but, in the ever amusing upside down world, it is hard to believe which country has the first all-female flight crew. We were not even close!

And finally, we present the Pink Tax. Yup, women actually do pay more for the same product than men. This story does not really explain all the whys but some of it sounds logical and others sound too protective of the industry.
It appears that smart retailers believe that women do not care about the price disparity, but rather on fit, look and feel. Who knows but we do wonder at why a sweater for a woman is 30% more than the same exact sweater for a man. Isn’t a man’s sweater larger generally?
There are a ton of things in the world that do not make sense – like when booking a flight and flying 2,000 miles is less expensive than flying 250 miles. Does it make sense, no, but as we all know, there is the supply and demand component that impacts the cost of all goods and services. And we women know that the fashion industry’s success is predicated on creating demand. We fall for it every time!
