A friend came to stay with me this week, having recently returned from a fabulous trip through Sweden. She went with a terrific young designer named Autumn Hruby. Autumn brought along her two Australian Sheperd dogs, just imagine that, which made for great adventure that included my friend’s daughter, Autumn and her two dogs, and Autumn’s divine boyfriend who is a chef. The food and places they stayed in Sweden were amazing. What a perfect way to travel.  Autumn is definitely a girl to watch.

Lucy and I wanted to understand who Autumn is and found her to be the most interesting of young entrepreneurs. Her clothing collection is called Hesperios, that is focused on knitwear. The knitwear uses the finest baby alpaca
wool, cashmere, silk, and pima cotton.

“Hesperios draws references from literature
and the botanical world and designs each piece with the intention of being kept
and passed along as an heirloom.

Produced in New York City and Lima, Peru.” Working with ecologically responsible mills,
all yarns are custom dyed and printed in a variety of colors.

But this young woman doesn’t stop there. She also publishes the HESPERIOS Journal and Artist Limited Editions

. “The annual two volume art and literary journal, Hesperios is an anthology of classic and
contemporary art and literature. Each issue presents collections of works by both celebrated
and emerging artists who, in turn, collaborate on limited editions that can be
found exclusively on the Hesperios online shop. The Hesperios Journal is designed, not only to be a collector’s item,
but, as a means to discover new artists, cultivate curiosity, and contribute to the tradition
of craftsmanship.”

Hats off to this young woman who represents the next generation of designer, artist, and business leader: http://www.hesperios.com/
